5 Essentials for a Fashion Intern

Working as a fashion intern is definitely hectic and keeps you on your toes at all moments, but I've gathered together my five top essentials to make sure your job runs as smoothly as possible...

  1. An Oyster Card! Sounds easy enough but you never know when you might be sent to a fabric store to pick up an order, or the flagship store for a pieces needed in the office. Taxi's are great but in rush hour the tube will be your best friend.
  2. A snack bar- Sure you're entitled to a lunch break, but when your to-do list is growing by the second a quick bite to eat may be the more practical option!
  3. Notepad and pen- In fashion there is always something new to be learnt, whenever you meet new people or hear a quick tip make sure to write it down. Not only will you be more likely to remember everyone's names but you'll also have a plethora of priceless tips than will stick with you throughout your fashion career!
  4. A portable phone charger- Whether its mindless Instagram scrolling on the journey into work or it's endless calls trying to track down a missing sample, this is an essential! You'd be surprised how fast your battery drains after a day in fashion and I can never leave the house without it.
  5. Last but not least a powder- Running around making teas or sprinting all over London running errands, a powder is a must-have. A few quick touch-ups throughout the day and they wont even know you're breaking a sweat!
