February Fashion Calendar

The first month of 2016 is now over and it's been crazy to say the least with the deaths of too many icons, David Bowie and Glenn Frey among many others, whilst designers have been pushing the boundaries at Men's Fashion Week and Couture Week. But as we roll on February things are about to get exciting as the fashion sphere gets ready for a month packed of key fashion events you'll want to note down in your diary...

NYFW: Men's Collection (1st- 4th Feb)
As the men's fashion is getting greater recognition in the fashion sphere we welcome the finale week of Men's Fashion Week at the beginning of February, expect to see upcoming menswear designers as well as the favourites, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors and Calvin Klein.

Vogue 100: A Century Of Style (11th Feb- 22nd May)
This month the National Portrait Gallery located in London's iconic Trafalgar Square is exhibiting a huge gallery of images collated since the very beginning of British Vogue amassing to an incredible 280 photographs. Celebrating their centenary this exhibition is a fashion-lovers must see as your transported through the past ten decades featuring some of fashions most historic moments. Check back here for a full review when the exhibition opens.

NYFW: Womenswear (11th- 18th Feb)
Now for the ladies the first shows of the AW16 season debuts on the 11th February where we anticipate the collections of America's favourite Rebecca Minkoff as well as Jenny Packham, Marchesa and Jeremy Scott.

Zoolander 2 (12th February)
Whilst this is not a serious fashion event it's certainly one you don't want to miss as we see Zerek Zoolander back on the big screen after 15 years taking the world one model pose at a time. Not forgetting of course the most-talked about catwalk surprise of 2015 when Zoolander and Hansel stormed the Valentino runway at Paris Fashion Week, it's a must-see just for that moment alone.

LFW: Womenswear (18th- 23rd Feb)
Back to my favourite city of all for fashion week I can't wait to see the latest designs from Felder Felder, cruelty-free Shrimps, celeb favourite Topshop Unique, and the fantastical Alexander McQueen. Perhaps most exciting of all though is the quintessentially British brand Burberry, with their stunning stage display and live music, I can't imagine what Christopher Bailey has planned as his designs become more youthful and edgy.

MFW: Womenswear (24th- 29th Feb)
Whilst the schedule of designers hasn't yet been released, if we take a look back at the spectacular shows from Dolce & Gabanna, Versace, Moschino, Fausto Puglisi and Alberta Ferretti it's safe to say it will be a week full of rich colours, seductive silhouettes and luxe fabrics.

London Fashion Weekend (25- 28th Feb)
In a bid to make fashion week more accessible to the every-day consumer London Fashion Weekend returns for AW16. A host of brands will be presenting for your shopping needs and numerous designer and trend catwalks will take place, having been once before it is definitely worth it to get a taste of the craziness that is fashion week, and this year it's being hosted in the beautiful Saatchi Gallery to top it off.

Liberty In Fashion (Open now until 28th February)
The Fashion and Textile Museum has been holding this exhibition since last October but if you haven't yet head on down to Bermondsey to feast your eyes on over 150 garments dating back to the 19th century, as well as featuring some of their best collaborations with names like Vivienne Westwood and Yves Saint Laurent to name a few. From Orientalism to Art Deco the range of patterns on offer at #libertyinfashion is a textile fanatics dream as they celebrate 140 years since of business.
